Robert and Gail were testing some of Brian’s breakfast creations at The Old Manse Inn and gave a two thumbs up!
Baked Egg Florentine w/ Hollandaise Touch
Taking some liberties on the standard Florentine recipe, I combined the fresh eggs with a mixture of cottage, feta & paremesan cheeses along with a healthy sampling of vitamin-rich spinach. After it came out of the oven piping hot, I added just a spoonful of warm mustard hollaindaise to the top to spice up the taste buds!
Today’s Special Breakfast Dish:
Curacao Fruit Splash
This new recipe actually tasted better than I think it looks! The tasty chunks of banana, apple, orange & pear are doused with a warm mixture of juices, brown sugar & just a hint of orange curacao. The fruit just bathes in the juices until cold & ready to serve!
Pumpkin Nut Belgian Waffle
This is another newbie to the breakfast collection –and what a great way to test out the new double waffle maker! Add some pumpkin puree & toasted pecans to the usual belgian waffle recipe, serve it with fresh & hot blueberry compote and you have something truly UNusual! It’s the nuts that make it the ‘tastiest’ I think.
