Dear Old Manse Inn Family,
Charlie and Brian hope that this note finds you all doing well and staying safe. We have missed many of you during this pandemic and we are certainly looking forward to seeing and hosting you all once again in 2021!! We subscribe to the idea that we can achieve our best selves here at the Inn by working towards the common good. This includes the safety and well-being of our guests - and our great staff too!
At the direction of the state of Massachusetts, we were allowed to re-open & host guests back in June (usually May 1st each year). All local restaurants have been allowed to provide indoor dining at reduced capacities and take-out dining services. Please contact individual restaurants for the services they are providing, including any need for a reservation.
Back on August 1st, Governor Baker of MA announced that all travelers entering Massachusetts - both out of state residents and Massachusetts residents returning home—must comply with the MA travel order. The order requires all visitors and returning residents to fill out a Massachusetts Traveler Form, unless they are coming from a state that has been designated a lower-risk COVID-19 state or fall into an exemption category. As of Sat., 11/28, the lower-risk COVID-19 states is only HI. All lodging entities are required to inform guests at the time of booking. The travel order also provides that visitors and returning residents arriving in Massachusetts from any place other than a COVID-19 lower risk state must quarantine for 14 days unless they can produce a negative COVID-19 test result administered on a sample taken not more than 72 hours prior to arriving in Massachusetts. As of Sat., 11/28, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, ME, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OR, PA, RI, VT, WA, WV and WY are no longer exempt from the MA travel restrictions.
Brian was appointed to work on the Brewster Reopening Advisory Board so that the public and private entities that make up our great town work together with the State of Massachusetts restrictions and guidelines that pertain to us. We will be communicating those guidelines and available options to all guests as their arrival dates approach. We will also be requesting responses from each guest to make sure individual needs are taken into account as well. Where possible, and with some creativity, we hope to still provide all of the amenities that you are used to enjoying here at the Inn! We feel that the precautions are the socially-responsible choice and will support a more favorable long-term outcome for the communities and guests that support us.
On a good note, we have now received Initial Steps for COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution here in the State:
If you have any questions or need more details, please reach out directly to Brian at the Inn via email (innkeeper@oldmanseinn.com or phone 508-896-3149). We will be monitoring the evolving situation constantly as we move forward so that we can welcome you all for a great stay! In the meantime, we are now accepting purchases for gift certificate and also reservations the 2021 season. We reopen for the season on Sat., 5/1/2021!
We hope you will join us as we know everyone needs that time away these days to re-charge after those months in 2020!
All Our Best,
Brian & Charlie
