Highland Light

Our coziest Standard guest room with queen-size bed located at the end of hall is on the 2nd floor.  Recently renovated during the off season of 2017, Highland Light now has gorgeous hardwood floors that used to be covered by burgundy wall-to-wall carpet!  Soft and elegant now, this room was originally called the Garden Room.  We are not sure why unless it was due to the original flower motif of the entire room’s wallpaper.  Scaled back considerably, it is now just incorporated as an accent wall to remember the bygone days of this great room. Snuggle up in the four-poster, early pine wood bed that directly faces our hand-tiled fireplace, popular in great houses during those early days, and you might not want to get out of bed in the morning! Take in the views from the 4 corner windows of two beautiful New England churches, that especially during a late season snow storm, walk you back in time as the snow falls in front of the candle-sconced windows of the churches. Renovations for Highland, besides the hardwood flooring, include brand new bedding to blend in with the new soft colors of the room with 2 new sitting chairs, a writing desk plus brand new Mitsubishi air conditioning.  The bathroom now has warm wainscoting and a larger, brand new tiled shower. Add a brand new 32″ flat screen Smart TV with all of the popular streaming websites, a closet for your storage needs and a central power center for all charging needs and the conveniences are complete.
